    The application system for 2024 is now closed.  Applications for the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship were due on March 1st.  The system is now closed until late November when it will re-open for applicants who are high school seniors this fall and plan to attend college/university or training/vocational programs in the fall of 2025.

    There is an alternate Tuition Discount Program which is available to all Teamsters and members of their families - please see the information posted below.

    The Teamsters Scholarship Fund which has a deadline of March 29, also offers scholarships to sons, daughters and financial dependents of Teamster members.  For more information, please see:   www.Teamster.org

    The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund (JRHMSF) today announced that it has awarded $1.2 million in academic and vocational scholarships this year to the children of Teamster members throughout the U.S. and Canada.
    The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund awarded $1.2 million in academic and vocational scholarships this year to the children of Teamster members throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our recipients of the academic awards will be attending schools such as University of California, Boston University and University of Michigan to pursue college degrees.

    *As a Teamster member, there is a college tuition discount program that is available to you and members of your family. The ISTS Tuition Discount Network (TDN) is a list of For-Profit and Non-Profit colleges and universities that offer reduced tuition. The amount of the reduction varies by school and can sometimes be as specific as major.

    About the Fund: James R. Hoffa became a Teamster member in 1934 and served as General President for 14 years, and, in recognition of his tireless service to the union and its members, was honored as General President Emeritus for life. At the November 1999 General Executive Board meeting, then-General Secretary-Treasurer C. Thomas Keegel presented a resolution to establish the new scholarship fund. This site describes the James R.     The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is an independent organization established and registered as a tax-exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Fund is established solely to provide scholarships to the child or dependent of a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and contributions to the Fund are deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law.
