Teamster Members Vote Down proposed Modification Agreement
On May 17, ballots were counted and it was determined that Teamster members who work at Interstate Brands Corporation (Hostess Brands or IBC) turned down the Proposed Letter of Understanding to the 2008 IBC-IBT Modification Agreement between Interstate Brands Corporation (IBC) and Local Union Affiliates of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT).
Teamster members who work for Hostess Brands voted against the agreement 52 percent to 48 percent. Forty one percent of Teamsters eligible to vote on these contract changes cast ballots.

Teamster Local Leaders Overwhelmingly Approve Changes to Contract
Leaders of local unions representing workers at Interstate Brands Corporation/Hostess voted today to endorse an agreement with IBC/Hostess making work rule modifications to the existing contract.
Teamster leaders felt it was necessary to approve the modest changes to the contract to best protect jobs, said Dennis Raymond, Director of the Bakery & Laundry Conference. No changes were made to the wage and benefit language in the contract.
Ballots will be mailed out to effective Teamster members on or about Friday, April 22, and counted on or about May 17.
Tele-Town Hall Meeting for IBC/Hostess Workers
A “tele-town hall” conference call will be held on Thursday, April 21st, at 6:00 EST to provide leadership and members an opportunity to discuss the proposed work rule changes to the existing IBC contract. Call your Local Union to receive instructions on how to participate in the conference call.
