Members of Local 597 in South Barre, Vermont, have ratified a new two-year contract with the University of Vermont.  The bargaining unit of 20 members work as police officers, dispatchers and service officers on the university campus.

The new contract includes wage increases in each year and provides job security for the employees.  “Our members perform important work on the campus keeping students and faculty safe and secure,” said Tony St. Hilaire, Secretary-Treasurer at Local 597. “Our local union will continue to give them strong representation with their employer.”
