With the national First Student agreement set to expire at the end of next month, your Teamsters First Student Negotiating Committee is preparing for the second round of contract negotiations scheduled for the week of February 23. The Committee met with representatives of the company on January 27 and 28, 2015 for the first round of talks which were productive. But further negotiations are needed.

Parties will meet for the second bargaining session the week of February 23, 2015. This second round of negotiations will help move us closer to securing a strong, comprehensive contract for all Teamster school bus workers at First Student facilities nationwide.

We will continue to keep First Student Teamsters informed on the status of negotiations. When the committee has reached a tentative agreement that is endorsed by local union representatives, it will be voted on by all Teamsters covered by the new contract.

“We’ve assembled a great team and you can expect that all of the strength, power and resources of the Teamsters Union are focused on winning a strong new national contract for all of our members at First Student,” said Rick Middleton, School Bus Director and Co-Chair of Teamsters First Student National Negotiating Committee. “The Negotiating Committee will get the job done to ensure you and your co-workers receive the protections you deserve.”
