CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Teamsters Local 509, the union representing bus drivers for Dorchester, Beaufort and Charleston counties, said Thursday evening that they had made progress with Durham School Services and have plans to go back to negotiations on Monday.

"In the past week and a half since our members took strike votes, we have made progress at the bargaining table," the statement from the union read.

Durham officials said negotiations were still ongoing, but did not know how long it would be before the bus company had a substantive update.

"At this time, Durham School Services is still in active negotiations with Teamsters Local 509. There is no official update at this time, but we will be certain to keep you informed as further progress is made," the company said.
