Twenty-nine Teamsters Local 710 warehouse members at Ferguson overwhelmingly ratified their first union contract by nearly a 7-to-1 margin. The agreement is in effect through March 31, 2019.

The contract follows that of the Local 710 Ferguson drivers with a Memorandum of Understanding detailing specific benefits for the warehouse members.

One of the top priorities of the Bargaining Committee during the negotiations was to switch from the employer-sponsored health plan into the Chicago Truck Drivers Union health plan, matching the drivers. Local 710 successfully secured this benefit for the warehouse members, saving many hundreds of dollars each month and providing superior coverage over the employer plans.

In additional to joining the CTDU health plan, members will receive wage increases of 30 cents per hour upon ratification. Wages will increase 50 cents per hour in years two and three, less any potential increases to the health plan.

Now, under a Teamster contract, the warehouse workers will also enjoy the benefits of being union members, including defined seniority rights and a grievance procedure.

The 29 warehouse employees work out of three facilities in the greater Chicagoland area, with the main warehouse located in Addison, Ill. The members work alongside Local 710 drivers handling the distribution and fabrication of plumbing supplies.
