The workers at Central States Pension Fund are members of Teamsters Local 743 in Chicago. On Wednesday, September 20, they surprised General Secretary-Treasurer Ken Hall with an act of generosity that shows what a union is all about.

Hall was attending a meeting at the Central States Pension Fund when the employees presented him with a check for $81,945 for the Teamsters Disaster Relief Fund. The members joined together to support their brothers and sisters affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

“This is another great example of Teamsters stepping up when their brothers and sisters are in need,” said Hall. “Teamsters from across the United States and Canada have been contributing to the Teamsters Disaster Relief Fund and local union and Joint Council efforts to support the victims of these hurricanes. This is solidarity in action.”
