It is with heavy hearts today that we mourn Ricardo Galindo, a Teamster Port Truck Driver at Pac9 and dedicated member of Teamsters Local 848 in California, who passed after a tragic accident at work this morning.
Galindo dedicated 21 years of his life to port truck driving while fighting to bring dignity, justice and Teamster representation to the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. He embodied a true Teamster, and never wasted an opportunity to talk about the union difference.
Galindo leaves behind a wife and four children; as well as a brother Jose, also a port truck driver at Pac9 and member of Local 848. He also leaves behind a legacy with his fellow members of Local 848 and the truck drivers at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
The Teamsters Port Division and Local 848 are in touch with the Galindo family, as well as the employer as the situation develops. We ask for respect and privacy for all those involved, as we work through this tragedy together.
