Teamsters Strongly Oppose National Right-to-Work Legislation  Teamster.org  ...The Teamsters Union strongly opposes national ‘right-to-work’ legislation introduced today in Congress that will hurt workers and their unions. The destructive anti-worker bill, H.R. 785, is sponsored by Reps. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) and Steve King (R-Iowa) and would amend the National Labor Relations Act and Railway Labor Act to institute damaging right to work in all states...

Those laws ban mandatory collection of union fees from employees. The Republican-dominated legislature is kind of at the halfway point now for getting right-to-work to Governor Eric Greitens' desk, as it's moved all the way through the Senate and cleared House committees earlier this week...

Election official says there’s no extra money for voter ID outreach  Des Moines Register  ...Iowa’s top election official doesn’t plan to ask the Legislature for extra money to educate the public about a voter identification requirement that could soon become law, a move that advocacy groups say could impact how many people find out about the change.
