Salesforce Teamsters Ratify First Contract  Teamster.org  ...Teamsters who work for WeDriveU, a bus contractor for Salesforce in San Francisco, Calif., ratified a strong first contract this weekend that continued the trend of raising standards across the tech industry for bus drivers. The 25 new Teamsters members, who are represented by Local 853 in Oakland, Calif., will receive wage rates that are equal or better than the existing tech shuttle contracts covering drivers at Yahoo, Facebook, Apple, Genentech, Tesla, EBay, Cisco, Amtrak, Netflix and PayPal...

Teamsters at GP Gypsum Ratify 4-Year Contract  Local 117  ...Teamster at GP Gypsum in Tacoma voted Monday to ratify a new 4-year contract. The vote comes after a challenging contract negotiations process. Back in October, the members voted unanimously to authorize a strike. Throughout the process, members stood together and displayed their union pride. Many put large Teamster name labels on their lockers and wore solidarity stickers in the yard...  

Noel Canning union workers strike for second day over unfair labor practices  KAPP-TV  ...Noel Canning union workers in Yakima went on strike Tuesday for a second day in a row. The local soda manufacturer has been accused of unfair labor practices and refusing to comply with the law, the Teamsters Local Union 760 said in a news release. Representatives with the union said the company refuses to pay negotiated pension rates, sign bonuses or allow the union’s business representative to deal with company grievances...

The IIO letter is attached: By letter dated February 17, 2017, the IIO determined “that Mr. Hall did not play a personal role in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ noncompliance…with document requests.” Accordingly, the IIO withdrew his October 31, 2016 recommendation of charges against General Secretary-Treasurer Hall...

Branstad signed into law a new collective bargaining agreement that the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees says "strips every state employee of every protection and right under their current agreement." AFSCME filed a lawsuit in Polk County District Court Monday against the state saying this new law is unconstitutional...

Kentucky Gov. Bevin Throws Support Behind Latest Charter School Bill   WFPL  ...Gov. Matt Bevin announced his support for the latest charter school bill introduced in the General Assembly. The legislation would allow non-profit or for-profit organizations to create new charter schools with the permission of a local school district or the state Department of Education. House Education Chair Bam Carney, a Republican from Campbellsville, said he envisions three to five of the institutions opening up in Kentucky by the 2018-19 school year...
