(RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio) – On Monday, the National Mediation Board (NMB) dismissed challenges filed by Flexjet and Flight Options against the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

All of the allegations stem from a December 2015 election where the Teamsters were chosen to represent Flexjet and Flight Options pilots as a single unit when the two companies merged under the umbrella of One Sky, LLC. The company’s challenges alleged that the Teamsters interfered in the representation election, tainting laboratory conditions. The NMB dismissed these charges finding that the company had failed to state a prima facie case of interference.

David Bourne, Director of the Teamsters Airline Division. “Teamster pilots are true professionals and deserve to be treated with respect by employers. It is well past time that company management comes to the table and negotiates a fair contract for our members.”

“We’re happy that yet another series of baseless legal obstacles filed against the Teamsters by the company were thrown out,” said Efrem Vojta, President of Local 1108 in Richmond Heights, Ohio. “The legal actions taken by senior management are pure delay tactics and are without merit. Their behavior has been totally unacceptable and we’re going to continue to defend our pilots from attacks on their livelihood.”
