(MINNEAPOLIS) – Today, Teamsters Joint Council 32 announced its endorsement of Jacob Frey for the Minneapolis mayoral race. Frey, a progressive and pro-labor Minneapolis City Council member, brings a fresh perspective to Minneapolis politics and has chartered extensive change in his current council ward.
The Teamsters Union has traditionally been ahead of other unions in terms of the treatment of minority members, calling for ”no color line” in the union as early as 1906. The union began actively seeking to organize black men and women at the same time.
