Hotel Reservations and Costs A room block has been set up at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino for May 18 through May 23 under the name of “Teamster Scholarship” for both The Unity Conference and The Golf Tournament. The correct room cost is $149.00 per night single/double room occupancy. For reservations call 1-800-634-3434 and ask for The Teamster Conference/JRH room block: Code SBIBT8. Register earlyto reserve your spot in the seventh annual Drive for Education Golf Tournamentand the third annual All In for Education Texas Hold-Em Poker Tournament, May 19 – 21, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. *This year’s golf pre-tournament is a paid practice session on Monday, May 19 and a two-day competition tournament Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21.
Space is limited to 324 golfers and 200 poker players.
The tournaments will be held in conjunction with the 2008 Unity Conference May 18 – 19.
The Unity Conference and poker tournament will be held at Bally’s Hotel and Casino. The golf tournament will once again be held at Paiute Golf Resort.
The golf tournament entry feesare:

Golfers (union members/others) – $1,300 per person

Non-golfers (union members) – $500 per person

Non-golfers (vendors and others) – $1,000 per person
Entry fees for golfers will cover cost of tee prizes, green fees, carts and practice balls during the tournament, as well as evening receptions and the banquet. The fees for non-golfers will cover cost of participation in all evening receptions and the banquet.
The poker tournament entry feeis $1,300 per player and will cover the cost of prizes, as well as evening receptions and the banquet.
Entry fee does not include hotel accommodation or airfare. Checks should be made payable to the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund (JRHMSF).
Deadline for registration is April 19, or when all the tournament positions have been filled.

The James R Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is an independent organization established and registered as a tax exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Fund is established solely to provide scholarships to the children and dependents of members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and contributions to the Fund are deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law. The International Union provides certain in kind services to the Fund, such as this portion of the Union website, in order to benefit members and their children and dependents. |
