Clerks at UPS Freight in Orlando, Florida voted to join Local 385. The clerks voted 4-2 to join Local 385 on Dec. 17. There are six workers in the bargaining unit.

The Teamsters represent more than 12,600 drivers and dockworkers who joined the union in recent years, but this is the first clerks unit to join the union.

“We expect other locals to follow suit and hold elections,” said Mike Stapleton, President of Orlando-based Local 385. “The workers are seeking fairness, fair wages, respect, a grievance procedure and other things, and we will work to negotiate a contract that addresses their concerns.”
