Earlier this week, our future brothers and sisters at American Airlines made history by filing for their Teamster election at the NMB. This huge achievement was made just three weeks after we filed for our election to become Teamsters at US Airways.

At the press event, AA mechanics eloquently made their case for Teamster power at AA. Two US Airway mechanics – Dave Sauer (PHL) and Ted Vallandingham (PIT) – attended to show our support. “I want to give my full support to all my brothers and sisters at American Airlines for their upcoming election and look forward to coming together as Teamsters – the most powerful union in North America – at the world’s largest airline,” Vallandingham said.

We are proud of our future coworkers at AA for standing together in the face of so many challenges and drawing a line in the sand. We face many of the same struggles as AA mechanics and, as the two airlines merge, it is more important than ever that we remain strong and unified. Together, our work groups are standing up and fighting back for the future of our craft and the entire airline industry.
