DC Taxi Drivers, Teamsters Deliver Strong Message

Monday’s rally was a success! More than 200 drivers gathered at Freedom Plaza and marched on the Mayor’s Office. The media was there to report our event. On Tuesday, the Washington, D.C. Taxi Operators Association will file an injunction to ask the court to halt fines and taxi impoundments over the regulations.
Local 922 President Ferline Buie said the Mayor’s Office told her it will respond Monday to the letter Buie sent to the mayor on October 30 which outlines our concerns.
There will be a D.C. drivers rally at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 13 at Judiciary Square to make our voices heard at the D.C. Taxicab Commission meeting. More details will be released soon.
