(MILWAUKEE) – Today, Teamsters Local 200 announced that members of Local 43 in Racine, Wisc. overwhelmingly voted to merge with the Milwaukee-based chapter. With the vote, the more than 600 members of Local 43 will join the 3,700 members of Local 200.

As a result of the merger, members will benefit from the collective power, increased resources and experienced staff of the two locals.

“I look forward to representing our brothers and sisters from Local 43,” said Tom Millonzi, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 200. “With our combined strength, we can build upon the good work that Local 43’s staff has done over so many years.”

The merger will also open new avenues for organizing for the Teamsters.

“Our combined resources and staff will allow us to explore new organizing opportunities,” said Tom Bennett, Local 200 President. “Together, we can bring a strong voice to the unorganized in the Milwaukee, Racine/Kenosha areas, and further strengthen Wisconsin’s labor movement.”
