Teamsters Local 26, Champaign, Illinois, hosted training courses for pipeline construction employees on Sunday, June 29, 2014.  The training courses were coordinated by the Teamsters National Pipeline Training Fund.  A CSA/Defensive Driving course was taught by Mike Borjas and a Load Securement course was taught by Joe Costello and Greg Stroud.

The expanding number of pipeline construction projects in the U.S. and Canada has increased the interest in training courses such as these.   Participants in the training were members of Local 26 and local unions in the surrounding area.

“We are proud to offer skills training courses for our pipeline members,” said Marion Davis, Director of the Teamsters Building Material and Construction Trade Division. “I thank Pat Gleason, President of Local 26, for having the foresight to request these trainings. In deploying the important skills learned in our courses, our members continue the tradition of Teamsters being the most-skilled employees on any construction site.”
