Bob Burns For Missouri House of Representatives, District 93, Local 600

Bob Burns, a 34-year Teamster who retired after a career as a beer truck driver and was a longtime member of Local 600 in St. Louis, vows to continue to fight the anti-worker forces rearing their ugly heads in Missouri.

“We defeated right-to-work-for-less and we also defeated paycheck deception, but the proponents will be back which is why this election is so important,” said Burns, a Democrat, who is seeking re-election to the Missouri House of Representatives, District 93.

Burns said it is imperative to elect pro-worker candidates in this fall’s elections, especially in the Missouri House, where Republicans hold more than a 2-1 majority where they can override a veto.

“We need to pick up four seats, which is why I have donated $20,000 to candidates who will support working families,” Burns said.

Burns is the Democratic Labor Caucus Chair, and anyone wishing to help Burns’ effort to elect candidates who support working families can send donations to Bob Burns for State Rep Committee, 9057 Southview Lane, St. Louis, MO 63123. “I will make sure donations go to candidates that will support middle-class families,” he said.

Burns served on the staff of U.S. Congressman Richard Gephardt and U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill.

“Everything I have I owe to the Teamsters,” said Burns, who previously was elected and served as alderman in the city of St. George and served 12 years on the Affton School District Board of Education.
