UPS feeder driver and Teamsters Local 710 member Marvin Reinholtz was the victim of a fatal accident involving three semi-trailers on Jan. 9, near Chicago.

The 38-year-old of Osceola. Indiana was in his UPS trailer on the shoulder of I-80/94, just west of I-65, when his truck was struck by another semi. The vehicle lost control and hit a third semi hauling two trailers before crossing all lanes of traffic and colliding with Reinholtz’s UPS truck, which had emergency triangles out.

The Teamster was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only victim of the crash.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Brother Reinholtz’s family at this tragic time,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “Marvin Reinholtz worked for UPS for years out of the Elkhart, Indiana facility. From the kind words of his Teamster brothers and sisters who’ve come forward already, he was an honorable and hardworking man who will be missed by so many.”

Reinholtz leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 8 and 9. His visitation and funeral are open to all family and friends. At the request of the family, attendees to the visitation are invited to wear superhero or tie-dyed shirts, cowboy hats and boots to celebrate Reinholtz’s love for life.
