Local 237 in New York recently announced a contract victory covering 1,150 workers at the City University of New York (CUNY). CUNY is the public university system of New York City and the largest urban university in the United States. As the largest local union in the Teamsters, Local 237 has represented CUNY workers for many years. This new contract will mean wage increases, a signing bonus and increased contributions towards benefits for those in the unit.
