Four weeks after Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, millions of people are still left without power, clean water, food, shelter, and medical help. Following the lack of action and response to the people of Puerto Rico, Teamsters Local 210 Business Agent and a native Puerto Rican Lydia Torres joined Senator Elizabeth Warren and hundreds of others on Capitol Hill today, for the Center for Popular Democracy’s “Real Aid, Right Now! Mobilization for Hurricane Justice” rally.

Torres gave a moving speech about her experience on the ground in Puerto Rico, saying: “If the Teamsters can supply relief now, and if I was able to pack an SUV up with supplies and deliver them to the people, there is no reason, no excuse, to why the U.S. Government can’t.”
