The sons and daughters of Teamster members who are bound for college or vocational programs were awarded $1.4 million in scholarships in 2017 from the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Each year applications for academic scholarships are accepted from high school seniors preparing to enter college. This year, the fund was expanded to include scholarships for those interested in pursuing vocational programs. The program is selective and each year hundreds of applications are received.
