Independent Review Officer Barbara S. Jones issued a decision on January 12, 2018, finding not inadequate the IBT’s decision sustaining the charge that John Coli, Sr., while a member of the Union, failed to appear for a sworn examination noticed pursuant to the Final Order by the Independent Review Officer.   As a result of this decision, Mr. Coli is, among other things, permanently barred from holding any office or employment with the IBT or any IBT affiliate and is permanently expelled from membership in the Union.   In accordance with established precedent, this means that members are permanently prohibited from knowingly associating with him.
