Over 137 members of Teamsters Local 767 working at Danone Dairy in Ft. Worth held practice pickets on Monday and Tuesday, demanding a strong agreement from the international food conglomerate.

“Danone should know by now that if workers don’t get the contract we deserve, the company will face the unified front of 1.3 million Teamsters nationwide,” said Dave Reeves, President of Local 767.

Members of Local 767 have been bargaining with Danone Dairy for more than a month. The employer is fighting workers over hours of work, forced overtime, safety standards, pay raises, improved health care, and the length of the agreement. Danone North America amassed more than $1.7 billion in sales revenue in the third quarter, with much of the wealth generated by Dannon yogurt, made by Teamsters.

Danone Teamsters in Ft. Worth are demanding that the company share its profits with the people who make it successful.

“This isn’t some tiny family farm — it’s a huge corporation and we deserve our fair share of the success we generate,” said Jayden Guerrero, a Local 767 steward at Danone. “We’re not afraid to fight to get the contract we deserve.”

Teamsters will keep pressure on the multibillion-dollar, multinational corporation as workers enter the next round of bargaining and a possible strike authorization vote.
