(NAPERVILLE, Ill.) – Workers at Superior Ambulance that provide emergency medical response for Edwards Ambulance Services (EAS) have voted to join Teamsters Local 743. The EAS Superior workers contacted Local 743 after enduring years of no raises, high health care premiums, and safety concerns.
“We voted for Teamsters representation because we were tired of not getting responses from Superior to the numerous concerns we have raised with them,” said Aria Moscinski, a critical care paramedic of seven years at EAS Superior. “We are ready to win a first contract that will address our concerns, including pay, benefits, and respect on the job.”
Throughout the organizing process, Superior Ambulance ran a malicious anti-union campaign filled with lies and misinformation. In the end, EAS Superior workers stood strong and voted overwhelmingly for union representation.
“Congratulations to EAS Superior workers on their successful vote to form a union with North America’s strongest union,” said Debra Simmons-Peterson, President of Local 743. “Local 743 welcomes them to the Teamsters and we look forward to fighting for a first contract that will provide the pay and respect that they deserve.”
Teamsters Local 743 represents 10,000 hardworking men and women in health care, mail order, technical and warehouse employees. For more information, visit teamsterslocal743.com.
