(BRONX, N.Y.) – After more than two weeks on strike, Teamsters Local 210 members at Perrigo’s Bronx production facility overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year contract that protects overtime pay, secures retirement benefits, and delivers significant wage increases without a single concession.

The strike drew widespread attention after Perrigo management threatened to implement a 12-hour shift, withdraw from workers’ established retirement plan, and permanently replace longtime employees. Teamsters stood strong on the picket line on Bathgate Avenue, joined by Bronx elected officials and Teamsters union leaders from across New York City.

“These Teamsters proved that when you stand together, you can beat back threats and win,” said Lydia Torres, Vice President of Local 210. “Our members will return to work with their heads held high, their futures more secure, and their solidarity stronger than ever.”

Community support was instrumental to the victory, with elected leaders supporting Teamsters during the strike and calling on Perrigo to withdraw its concessionary proposals. Among them were Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY); Congressman Ritchie Torres (D-NY-15th District); Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY-14th District); Democratic nominee for Mayor Zohran Mamdani; State Senators Luis Sepulveda, Gustavo Rivera, and Nathalia Fernandez; Assemblymembers Chantal Jackson, Amanda Septimo, Karines Reyes, and Emerita Torres; Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson; and New York City Council Majority Leader Amanda Farías.

“We are all grateful for the incredible support of the Bronx community and so many elected officials. We backed the company down by fighting hard, staying united, and showing our solidarity,” said Joshua Viera, a 31-year Perrigo worker. “We are thankful for the support from all around the city and for the enhanced strike benefits provided by the International Union. We are looking forward to getting back to work.”

Perrigo workers, who include compounders, clerks, line operators, mechanics, and technicians, will return to work Monday under the new agreement.
