Teamsters Honor Autism Awareness Month

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is proud to honor World Autism Awareness Day and April as Autism Awareness Month.

Since our founding in 1903, the Teamsters have led the charge to win respect and equality in the workplace for all workers, including those living with autism. Under the leadership of General President Sean M. O’Brien, the Teamsters have raised millions in charitable donations for autism awareness through Teamsters Local 25’s Annual Light Up the Night Autism Gala and other fundraisers.

Through the work of the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission, we are dedicated to ending the disparities Teamsters and their family members with autism face in access to education, employment, and health care. Our union and workplaces around the nation are stronger when all physical and cultural qualities are treated with dignity and respect.
