New Study Shows Past Trade Pacts’ Actual Outcomes Were Opposite of Agency’s Rosy Projections  Public Citizen  ... TPP death watch  Politico  ...Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch said he saw chances for Congress to vote on the proposed TPP agreement in the lame-duck session at no more than 50-50. He said that’s partly because the White House seems unwilling to budge on his top concern: test data protection for biologics. “Well, we've had multiple meetings with the White House, and they don't seem to be willing to go beyond the five years,” Hatch said...

EU defends US TTIP deal amid growing opposition  Economic Times  ...EU trade chief Cecilia Malmstroem said Friday a historic free trade deal between Europe and the United States could still be reached this year despite growing opposition. "We are working as hard as we can to do this," Malmstroem, the trade commissioner of EU, said while arriving for talks with ministers from the European Union's 28 member countries to discuss the deal. She spoke as about 100 activists protested outside the Brussels venue of the ministerial talks demanding that the negotiations be abandoned...
