Teamsters Sponsor Non-profit that Reaches Out to Vets in Need

Teamsters Airline Division Chairman Capt. David Bourne and Economics and Contracts Director Jim Kimball participated in a hospital visit over the weekend as part of their work with a non-profit that they coordinate closely with and raise money for, “Ipods for Wounded Veterans.” The non-profit, an organization that is completely run by volunteers, was started by a retired Teamster, Paul Cardello of Local 170 in Worcester, Mass.

Moving Closer to a Strike, UPS Aircraft Mechanics File New Request to Be Released from Mediated Negotiations

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – Following close to four years of UPS refusing to bargain fairly on a new contract with its aircraft mechanics and related classifications, the workforce of approximately 1,300 employees who maintain the company’s air fleet filed a new request with the National Mediation Board (NMB) today asking to be released from mediated contract negotiations with the  company.

Last week’s devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey and the destruction already caused by Hurricane Irma and the anticipated further destruction as it makes landfall on the mainland of the United States has shown the resilience of our members. Even as they were dealt serious blows personally, they have survived the storms and risen to aid their neighbors and support each other in these times of need.

UPS Aircraft Mechanics Protest at One of The Company’s Biggest Hubs as Frustrations Rise Over Contract Delays

(ONTARIO, Calif.) – Dozens of Teamsters Local 2727 aircraft mechanics and related classifications protested outside one of UPS’ largest air hubs today, saying they’re ready to do whatever it takes to settle a fair contract that protects the health benefits they and their families depend on. The protests in Ontario will continue on Tuesday as the mechanics head back to the bargaining table with UPS under the supervision of a federal mediator.
