Friday, March 10, is the deadline the receipt of ballot votes from local unions representing members in the pipeline construction industry.
More than 400 young women recently learned what it’s like to be a Teamster. The students from 22 vocational high schools received valuable career advice from Teamsters Local 25 in Boston at the first ever Massachusetts Girls in Trades Conference and Career Fair. It was there that they learned about what it’s like to work in construction and commercial driving occupations.
Recently the Rover pipeline, a natural gas pipeline project, was approved to begin construction. The pipeline will run from West Virginia through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan – ultimately supplying natural gas to consumers in these states.
The Teamsters National Pipeline Training Fund will be conducting several training sessions for Teamster pipeline members in the coming weeks. The first will be from February 11-12 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The training will consist of OSHA, CSA and Defensive Driving training. (LAS VEGAS) Teamsters Local 631 members who work at Rinker Hydro Conduit (CEMEX) overwhelming ratified a new five-year collective bargaining agreement on Monday, January 23, 2017 ending a ten-week strike. Members will return to work January 25, 2017. Members of Teamsters Local 631 who work at Rinker Hydro Conduit, which is owned by CEMEX, had been on strike since November 15, 2016.
After ten weeks on strike, members of Local 631 in Las Vegas will soon vote on a tentative agreement with Rinker Hydro Conduit.
