(LEWISTON, Idaho) – By a vote of 157 to 44, registered nurses at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, voted to join Teamsters Local 690 in Spokane, Wash.
A group of 10 firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Illinois have voted unanimously to join Teamsters Local 525.
The more than 50,000 workers represented by the Teamsters Health Care Division care for children, families, the elderly and veterans, as doctors, nurses and blood collection personnel in a variety of settings including hospitals, wellness centers and at the American Red Cross. Teamsters have represented health care workers for decades, in particular nurses during World War II.

(BALTIMORE) – Mobile blood collections staff at the American Red Cross in Baltimore voted 37-0 today to become members of Teamsters Local 570.
(WASHINGTON) – A new national addendum has been approved by Teamster members working at American Red Cross, with over 91 percent voting to ratify. The three-year agreement was the result of several months of negotiations between the Teamsters, other labor unions in the Coalition of Unions and American Red Cross. The addendum will go into effect once the Coalition meets the ratification threshold established in the parties’ ground rules agreement.
