After years of legal action in federal court, NLRB charges for unfair labor practices and numerous protests and rallies, valet parking attendants at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas voted unanimously this week to approve their first Teamster contract.
(EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I.) – Shuttle drivers and maintenance workers employed by Standard Parking (SP Plus) at T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island are the newest workers to join Teamsters Local 251.
Applications for 2018 are now being accepted by the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Congrats to Local 117 members at ABM Parking who voted unanimously to ratify a new 3-year contract last week.
The group, which provides valet and cashier services at the Virginia Mason Medical Center, will see wage increases, improved vacation leave, along with a number of other improvements.
Last year, Teamsters Local 727 negotiated annual wage raises in the master parking agreement. The agreement covers more than 2,000 parking attendants working at commercial and residential locations throughout the Chicago area. Each contract anniversary, increases are allocated between wages and benefit contributions. This year’s annual contract wage increase is $0.75 per hour and went into effect November 1, 2017.
A small group of Teamsters who work for Republic Parking in downtown Seattle voted to ratify a new three-year contract last week.
Teamsters at Shuttle Park 2, an airport parking lot in SeaTac, voted to unanimously ratify their contract last Sunday. We had been in bargaining since May. The company has a history of complicated negotiations.
On Thursday, August 17, Teamsters Local 986 held an informational picket at the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas to put pressure on the ownership of the hotel to retain its workforce if the property is sold. They were joined in solidarity by Rep. Ruben Kihuen (D - Nev.), Local 986 President Sean Harren, members of Teamsters Locals 14 and 631, UFCW Local No. 711 and UNITE HERE Culinary Workers Union Local 226.
