(WASHINGTON) – On July 25, Teamsters Local 384 Secretary-Treasurer Matt Condron testified at the U.S. House of Representatives. Condron was part of a panel of experts and stakeholders at the hearing in the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, “Examining the Federal Role in Improving School Bus Safety.”
(WORCESTER, Mass.) – On Friday, July 19, 39 school bus drivers from First Student of Westborough, Mass. voted to join Teamsters Local 170. Organizer Shawn Stevens and Business Agent Jim Marks worked with the drivers to successfully organize the bus yard under the direction and support of Local 170 Secretary-Treasurer Shannon George.

(GASPORT, New York) – STA drivers and monitors who provide student transportation for the Royalton-Hartland School District (often referred to as “Roy-Hart”) have voted to join Teamsters Local 449. Over 95 percent of workers at the yard participated in the election.
(SANTA ANA, Calif.) – Teamsters Local 952 is lauding a recent decision by the Santa Ana Unified School District (USD) Board of Trustees to reject a request-for-proposal (RFP) from a student transportation provider due to the board’s concerns about safety, transparency and accountability. Local 952 represents drivers, attendants and mechanics at Durham School Services, the current provider. Durham School Services has also submitted an RFP.
(IRVING, TX) – By a margin of over 95 percent, more than 150 school bus drivers and monitors at First Student of Irving, Texas voted to join Teamsters Local 745. The drivers and monitors provide student transportation services for Irving Independent School District.
(KANKAKEE, Ill.) – Today, School bus drivers and monitors at Illinois Central in Kankakee, Ill. voted to join Teamsters Local 179. The 90 workers are part of a growing movement of drivers and monitors across the country who are organizing with the union because of the representation and benefits that come with a Teamster contract.
(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) – Workers at Durham School Services in Chattanooga, Tenn. have voted unanimously to ratify their first contract with Teamsters Local 327.
