Important Information Regarding the Company’s Accountability Letter
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Management has announced a tour of all maintenance bases to discuss our concerns regarding working conditions, pay, and benefits. Make no mistake, this is just the first step to persuade us not to vote for a union. Ask yourself: why now, since the National Mediation Board has set election dates, is the company suddenly taking the time to talk to us?
We have all worked extremely hard to reach this election and we deserve representation and a legally binding contract. Anything short of that leaves us at the mercy of the company at a critical time for Republic as it moves forward with its merger with Mesa.
Without a contract, we will be at the mercy of not only the company, but also of merger attorneys shaping decisions that directly impact our jobs, working conditions, and future.
The company has created a work environment where work rules are inconsistent, pay increases are non-existent, and employees can be terminated without cause.
Be cautious about what you hear in these meetings. The message is designed to influence your vote.
The company has always had the ability to make meaningful improvements but chose not to. Now, with a union vote approaching, they are making promises.
Stay union strong — because without a legally binding contract, we remain at the company’s discretion.
