(BOSTON)—Teamsters Local 25 met with Republic Services in an effort to end the six-week strike taking place in the towns of Marshfield, Rockland and Abington. This morning’s negotiations session was the eighth meeting since negotiations began in March.
(CAMBRIDGE, UK) – Two members of the Teamsters Union, which represents U.S. refuse collectors at Republic Services, America’s second-largest rubbish disposal corporation, protested Microsoft founder Bill Gates at the Cambridge Union Society yesterday. They were joined by supporters from Unite the Union, which represents refuse collectors in Cambridge and across Great Britain.

(BOSTON)– Striking Marshfield Republic Services Teamsters extended their picket lines to Fall River. Hundreds of Teamsters from across New England began picketing at 3:00 a.m. outside Republic Services at 1080 Airport Road in Fall River. Teamsters Joint Council 10 members from the various Locals are “all in” in support of Local 25 drivers as the strike against Republic Services entered its 15th day.
The Teamsters Union is mourning the death of Alvin Turner, who participated in the 1968 Memphis sanitation workers' strike and who has stood with the Teamsters over the years to help raise standards for workers in the waste industry.
Teamsters throughout the country are mourning the death of Robert Morales, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 350 in Daly City, California who also served as the first and only Director of the union’s Solid Waste, Recycling and Related Industries Division. Morales died January 26, 2015.

West Lake is a Superfund site in Bridgeton, Mo. that contains 8,700 tons of buried uncontained radioactive nuclear wastes adjacent to an underground landfill fire.
