Hoffa: Presidential Veto of Keystone Hurts Middle Class Americans
(WASHINGTON) – Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa expressed his disappointment in President Obama’s decision today to veto the Keystone Pipeline Act despite bipartisan support in both the House of Representatives and Senate.
The Teamsters Union has been a vocal supporter of the project and believes it will promote economic prosperity and create good-paying jobs.
“Despite today’s veto, we will continue to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle to find a way to make this project a reality and bring good jobs to thousands of working men and women who desperately need them,” Hoffa said.
The KXL project is projected to create more than 42,000 jobs, including 1,500 Teamster jobs.
