Teamsters from the tristate area made up a significant portion of the membership that went to Puerto Rico to help out with Disaster Relief. New York and New Jersey Teamsters are well prepared for Disaster Relief, having lived through 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy.
(WASHINGTON) – At the fourth round of NAFTA renegotiation, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters dispatched staff from both its U.S. and Canadian trade policy teams to track and influence the negotiations on behalf of several top Teamster priorities, including highway safety, dairy supply management and worker rights.
Many Teamsters volunteering in Puerto Rico were called to action because Hurricane Maria wasn’t just a disaster that desperately needed a response, but because it was deeply personal for them.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is taking aim at Cardinal Health Inc. in the union’s quest to demand accountability from companies it says are responsible for fueling the U.S. opioid crisis, and it’s asking other shareholders to join in.
