Policies That Weaken Standards For Working Families

Throughout the country, American cities, counties, and other local governments have attempted to enact policies that raise standards for working people. However, anti-worker politicians are blocking those standards using what’s called “preemption”—the use of state law to void local ordinances. Twenty-six states have preemption laws that target five key worker rights the Teamsters strongly support.
