Pasco County Workers: Build Teamsters Power Now to Win the Strongest Possible Contract!

With the current contract set to expire for Pasco County workers in September 2026, workers have a rare opportunity to grow our union now, strengthen our numbers, and head into negotiations with real power.
Our ability to win better wages, stronger benefits, and job protections depends on one thing: us showing up for each other and organizing from the inside.
Why Organizing Matters
We’ve heard it at the gates and in the break rooms:
• Wages aren’t keeping up with the cost of living
• Short staffing and burnout are getting worse
• There’s no consistency with discipline or workplace policies
• You want respect and a real seat at the table
We get it—and the union is how we fix it. But only if we’re united.
Some folks say:
“I already get the benefits, so why should I join?”
Let’s be real: Those benefits only exist because of union members—past and present—who fought for them. If too many workers sit out, we lose power. And without power, we lose the raises, protections, and standards that made this a good job in the first place.
What Happens If We Don’t Organize?
If membership stays low:
• Management can push weak contracts and stall negotiations
• Workers risk losing grievance rights and due process
• Raises and benefits are left up to the employer – and are not negotiated
But if we build a strong Contract Action Team and sign-up new members now:
• We negotiate from a position of strength
• We can win better pay, enforceable protections, and real input
• We show Pasco County that workers won’t back down
What the Union Does for You
Teamsters Local 79 gives you:
• Experienced negotiators who fight for real raises, fair policies, and clear job rights
• Representation if management crosses the line
• A voice in the direction of your workplace
But a union is only as strong as its members. If you don’t join, you’re letting someone else make decisions about your wages, your future, and your rights.
