On May 4, UPS will hold its annual shareholder meeting in Wilmington, Delaware where Teamsters will call on the company to transparently report all lobbying activity.
(ATLANTA) – Dozens of members of Teamsters Local 728, the Sierra Club and other unions voiced their opposition to the appearance of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Michael Froman and UPS CEO David Abney at the Commerce Club this morning, saying the two were promoting agendas that would lessen the power of unions and cause jobs to be shipped overseas.
(WASHINGTON) – Today, Teamsters Union representatives in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Ga. led delegations that included environmental and community activists that delivered thousands signed petitions to UPS offices in both cities. The 75,000 signed petitions collected call on the corporation to withdraw its membership in the controversial American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
Randy Cammack, President of Teamster Joint Council 42, which represents members throughout Southern California, spoke at a protest in San Diego outside ALEC’s national meeting and asked the crowd to help him send a message to a UPS representative inside.
