California’s voter registration laws are extensive, please read carefully and follow the instructions below.
State Organizational Voter Registration Drive Requirements:
Organizations or individuals requesting more than 50 blank state or county voter registration cards must submit a Voter Registration Card Statement of Distribution by fax to (916) 653-3214 or by mail to Secretary of State, Elections Division, 1500 11thStreet, 5th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. The form can be found at this link: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/vrdis.pdf.
Individual Voter Registration Drive Requirements:
No individual requirement.
Voter Registration Form Requirements:
State voter registration cards with the Secretary of State’s address pre-printed on them may be obtained by contacting the Secretary of State’s Elections Division at (916) 657-2166.
County voter registration cards with a county elections office’s address pre-printed on them may be obtained by contacting your local county elections office. A listing of county elections offices can be found at this link: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_d.htm.
Only original state or county voter registration cards may be used in voter registration drives.
Voter Registration Drive Collection and Completion Requirements:
Completed applications must be received or postmarked 15 days before election day.
Turn In Deadline:
15 days before Election Day, which is October 20thin 2014.
2013 and 2014 Voter Registration Deadline:
October 20thin 2014.
