Contract Talks Begin with AEI for Successor Agreement
On Friday, December 16, the AEI Teamsters National Negotiating Committee sent all AEI locals a memo updating progress on negotiations for the National AEI Agreement, the text of which follows:
The AEI Teamsters National Negotiating Committee met with company representatives in Washington, DC this week to exchange some contract proposals and to continue work on the replacement of the 2014-16 National AEI Agreement, which expires at the end of this month. Some progress can be reported by the Union in identifying the major issues that need to be addressed and the two sides will meet again next month to resume negotiations. The parties have also agreed to a contract extension that will run through the end of February so negotiations can be concluded on a tentative successor agreement.
