UPS Freight Negotiation Committee Reviews Contract Proposals
On Monday, September 25, 2017, the UPS Freight Negotiating Committee met in the Washington, D.C. area, to go through many contract proposals received from UPS Freight members.
After reviewing the proposals, there are many issues and concerns that need to be addressed such as subcontracting, blackout weeks, protecting health benefits and pensions, and excessive overtime – just to name a few.
The National Negotiating Committee was tasked with coming up with a set of comprehensive proposals to prepare for the start-up of negotiations.
The Two-Person Meeting is scheduled for October 17 and negotiations are expected to start in January.
