Teamsters Joint Council 32 Endorses Tim Walz for Minnesota Governor
(Minneapolis, MN) – Teamsters Joint Council 32 in Minneapolis, Minnesota today announced their endorsement of Congressman Tim Walz for the Minnesota Governor’s race. Walz, a six-term member of the United States Congress, has served Minnesotans in the 1st Congressional District very well and has been a strong advocate not only for workers but for Veterans alike.
Walz is running on a platform of issues that include standing up for working families and strengthening Unions, and he will do the same as Governor! He’s also committed to ensuring that collective bargaining is protected, and fighting against Right to Work FOR LESS in all of its forms.
“Tim Walz understands the challenges working families face every day and will fight for the issues that are important to the thousands of active and retired Teamsters across Minnesota,” said Lawrence Yoswa, President of Teamsters Joint Council 32. “We will put boots on the ground and knuckles on the doors to do all we can to help Tim Walz,” Yoswa stated.
“After screening and conversing with many of the candidates for Governor, we believe that Tim Walz not only fits the criteria for Teamsters, but for all Minnesotans that believe in a fair days work for a fair day’s pay. Hard work must allow someone to lift their family out of poverty and live a life of dignity,” Yoswa went on to say.
“Teamsters Joint Council 32 has always fought for living wages, a dignified retirement, strong benefits, and good working conditions. It’s these shared values that have brought us together. I couldn’t be prouder to stand with their membership as we fight for economic security for all Minnesotans,” said Congressman Tim Walz.
The Teamsters Union represents factory, warehouse, trucking, public employees and many other professions that provide livable wages for workers and their families.
As one of the largest Labor organizations, Teamsters Joint Council 32 is the umbrella organization of twelve Local Unions which represents in excess of 62,000 active and retired members in the State of Minnesota.
