Teamster leaders from local unions that represent First Student workers voted unanimously to endorse the tentative National Master First Student Agreement, paving the way for members to vote on the agreement in the near future. A sole no vote was inadvertently cast, but was immediately rescinded after the meeting.
Ballots will be mailed to members on or about June 7 and are scheduled to be counted on or about June 28. The new agreement includes additional safety provisions added in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an additional stipend for company-required medical examinations and enhanced paycheck protections, and perhaps most notably, language that makes Teamsters at First Student eligible to participate in certain union health care and retirement plans.
