Lead Technicians Secure Teamster Representation

(PHILADELPHIA) – Lead technicians at the American Red Cross in Philadelphia have voted to join Teamsters Local 929.

“Just three weeks ago, we welcomed several new Red Cross members to Local 929 and we are thrilled to welcome yet another group,” said Rocky Bryan Jr., Local 929 President. “We are proud to represent more than 100 Philadelphia Red Cross workers and we are deeply committed to organizing many more. These health care heroes deserve a strong Teamster contract.”

In voting the join the Teamsters, these workers will join more than 1,800 other Red Cross workers represented by the Teamsters – including more than 100 in Philadelphia – and immediately be covered by a National Master Agreement between Teamsters and the American Red Cross.

“I voted to join the Teamsters for fair treatment and guaranteed wage increases,” said Hector Palacio, lead technician at American Red Cross in Philadelphia.
