The Industrial Initiatives Sector of the Warehouse Division consists of Occupational, Environmental, Health, and Safety (OEHS) professionals (i.e., Industrial Hygienists) whose mission is to ensure worker safety and establish workplace control measures beyond regulatory compliance. All industrial hygienists are knowledgeable about protecting workers from workplace hazards. They are quick to identify hazards, recommend control measures where feasible, and follow up with employee representatives (e.g., Business Agents, Shop Stewards, and Teamster Divisions) to ensure that the employer’s safety standards exceed industry benchmarks.
