(WASHINGTON) – Teamsters Warehouse Division Director and International Vice President Steve Vairma announced that after seven months of negotiations the Kroger master agreement, including all five local union supplements, has successfully concluded. The five-year agreement was overwhelmingly ratified by the membership.

The agreement covers over 1,500 workers. The locals partied to the contract are Local 135 in Indianapolis, Local 337 in Detroit, Local 795 in Wichita, Local 984 in Memphis and Local 988 in Houston.

“This new contract increases workers’ wages, protects their health care and eliminates the two-tier holiday schedule which has been heartburn for our junior members for some time now. The national committee worked very hard and did a tremendous job on getting this contract ratified,” Vairma said.
