On Monday, July 24 at 3:00 a.m., 42 Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Account Managers who work at the Vernon, Calif. facility went on strike to protest the company’s violations of federal labor law. These workers, members of Teamsters Local 848, have been fighting for their first contract for over a year. They decided to organize with the Teamsters after the company started increasing their workload without increasing their pay.
Yesterday morning a group of Teamster furniture movers who have been locked out by Farmingdale-based Waldner’s Business Environments since July 5th, crashed a meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature to protest a politician’s family ties to the union busting company.
(LINCOLN, R.I.) – Teamster Local 251 members have won an agreement for a new contract at Twin River Casino after a 41.5 hour strike from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning. Teamster members unanimously authorized a strike when Twin River demanded a contract that imposed health care cuts and eliminated workers’ job security.
